Attention to Detail

I've been writing a lot of cover letters lately. In fact one place asked me to name 5 traits about myself. Kevin suggested "Attention to Detail." Most people would say this about me. This has gotten me to thinking.

After spending two hours crawling around on the stairs and living room floor fixing all of the splotches where the trim paint spilled over on to the "Oat Straw" color I really don't think I have the quality of "Attention to Detail."

After about 1/2 hour I wanted to crawl up the walls in sheer boredom. An hour into it, I kept trying to convince myself I was almost done. As I neared completion and kept finding more and more spots I wanted to run out of the house screaming. There comes a point where attention to detail is no longer a good quality it's just an OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.)

The Best Laid Plans

We had such grand plans. Putting up the new blinds, spackling the wall in the basement, touching-up. We were snowed in yesterday and had a whole free day! All of my plans were either cancelled or I was forced to miss them because of the snow. In the morning we discussed all of the above in great detail as we eagerly listened to WTOP online (we love the internet!)

Kevin quickly put the blinds up and then, well, we lost our momentum. I did some freelance work and Kevin did some Lockheed work. Then we watched a movie. Then I did some freelance and Kevin did some work and then we ate. And then we played a boardgame and then we watched another movie and before you know it it was nearing our bed time.

There was a brief mention of spackling in the afternoon followed by "I don't feel like it..." quickly chorused by, "Me neither."

Blind Installation

After much hemming and hawing, I decided we should just install the blinds in the solarium. And for once it was easier done than said. Thank goodness!

We're currently snowed in for the most part after a monsterous Nor'easter. Kevin easily and quickly installed our blinds this morning and they look fabulous. When they're up, you don't even know they're there. Just the way I like them!
