Giving Up the Goat
I finally gave up the goat on Kevin's office wall. If you'll remember this is the wall that at one time had water damage and we could never decide what to do with it. I finally decided not knowing what's going on behind the wall was probably a good thing. What you don't know can't hurt you, right?
So I spackled and sanded and spackled and sanded. Occasionally I'd leave it there in one of these states hoping that Kevin would be encouraged to finish it. (Pardon me while I laugh at myself.) He would just comment that it wasn't "smoooooooooth" enough yet. I have a few choice words to say about that, but I'll refrain since my parents read this blog.
I finally gave up the goat and primed the wall, then let it sit for a few days per my brother's instructions. I don't know what this does, he says the wall will "suck up the paint." Ok, um sure. So I did and then I painted. You know what? It looks pretty darn good. It's a wee bit uneven if you run our hand along the wall, but if you want to come to my house and run your hand along the wall, you have bigger problems!
