The Bamboo Has Arrived

We returned from vacation yesterday to 5 'Missed Calls' from Lowe's. That's when we figured the bamboo was either in or they couldn't get it.

So after arriving home from Florida, unpacking and eating at Panera we head over to Lowe's. Yes, the bamboo flooring was in. This is when the churning stomach began. They had to get a forklift to get it. Gulp.

Kristy: I wonder how big it is? I wonder how long it is? Do you think it'll fit in the car?
Kevin: I don't know, but now you're making me nervous.

Wait, wait, wait...

Kristy: What if they bring out this HUGE pallet that we definitely cannot fit in the truck?
Kevin: Then we'll have to make trips and one of us we'll have to sit here and wait with the bamboo.
Kristy: I'll volunteer to wait!
Kevin: I figured.

Wait, wait, wait...

Kristy: I'm going to go check on the bamboo and go to the bathroom.

Kristy runs off to the bathroom. Meanwhile...

Kevin (to Lowe's Employee): Is that the Bamboo? That's mine.
Lowe's Employee: Nope, I'm looking for a Kristine.
Kevin: That's my wife! She's in the bathroom.
Lowe's Employee: Mmm...

Kevin starts loading the bamboo and Kristy trots out. The Lowe's people started helping then.

Kevin deserved an award yesterday for loading most of it in the truck and out of the truck. 27 packages of bamboo that filled the 4Runner to the ceiling at about 30 pounds a piece at least. I helped, but I'm not really as fast as he is.

We currently have stacks of bamboo waiting to be unwrapped for their acclimation phase in the living room.

Kevin writes, The real question is whether you tip the Lowe's clerk who helps you with the bamboo? The cleck loaded half the boxes for me. I tipped him a few bucks, he took the money but looked confused. I guess tipping is not customary in Frederick.
