Dug a Hole and Climbed In
The title of this blog essentially tells you where we've been for the last 2 months. Who knew having two jobs could be so time consuming. But I am back. Let's hope a little more often to catch everyone up on our crazy lives.
I took a job at the Public Library about three months ago and so far I just love it (knock on wood.) I am extremely busy there with little internet access all day. It's strange after relying on internet access pretty much 24/7 for the last 9 years of my life. But I'm actually happy, so it can't be all bad.
I'm also considered a little bit of a computer whiz, which certainly could not be said at my previous jobs, where I was surrounded by tech wizards who knew of every new gadget before it even hit the market. Amazingly, not everyone knows how to make labels in Microsoft Word and while the praise I receive is probably a little excessive, I consider it deserved after years of thirst in the desert of the web design corporate world. I'm still freelancing on the side and I have all kinds of clients (Historical Society, Interior Design, Search Engine, and more), which keeps life interesting.
So for anyone out there thinking to yourself, "What the #$()# am I doing with my life? What do I want to do with my life? I'm not happy with this job, but I don't know what to do..." Go find yourself a good career counselor. You know why? Because it works and life is too short not too. It sounds cliche, but doesn't everyone utter cliches, because they're normally true?
